Embracing Imaginative Play with Keel Toys

A British Family Business

A family-run business since 1947, Keel Toys are based in the UK. Since 1988, the company has focused on developing their unique range of soft toys, known for their iconic red ear disc and distinctive features. Now run by the third generation of the family, the fourth generation is already involved and the future looks bright for this ever-growing company.

Innovation and Sustainability

The award-winning Keeleco sustainable collection has expanded rapidly in the past few years. Here at Keep Cosy, we’re thrilled to stock a wide variety of the Keeleco range, including the bestselling gender netural baby collection, which is suitable from birth, a colourful ocean range and a festive collection.

Following the launch of the collection, it was awarded the prestigious Hero Toy Award in 2020. Since then, the collection has continued to grow. Each Keeleco toy is made from 100% recycled polyester from plastic waste. 10 recycled plastic bottles can produce enough fibre for an 18cm soft toy. With embroidered eyes and paper tags attached by cotton, the toys are shipped in recycled boxes and sealed with paper tape. The factories where the toys are produced are ICTI ethically audited factories and at home, Keel has invested in sustainable options at their HQ.

But how are they made?

The bottles and plastic waste are cleaned. Then, the clean plastic is shredded, crushed and formed into pellets. These pellets are melted to create yarn, which is then spun to make thread. The thread is then woven to make the base fabric before being turned into the cuddly and lovable soft toys that you see on the shelf.

500 million water bottles have been recycled in this way since the product launch in 2020 (as of 2024) and 85% of the whole Keel Toys collection is now included in the Keeleco range.

The Perfect Gift

We believe that Keeleco cuddly toys make the perfect gift.

By choosing Keeleco, you’re helping us to move away from a throwaway gift culture, by choosing something designed to be loved for a lifetime. So why not embrace these lovable soft toys with a greener footprint and choose a gift that will spread smiles and sustainability?
