Tips for a Cosy Christmas

Tips for a Cosy Christmas

With this Christmas shaping up to be slightly different from our usual festive season, it's a great opportunity to take a step back and make the most of a cosy Christmas at home. Here's our top ways to make that even more special.

Homemade Decorations
Get creative and make your own decorations! and you don't even need to go out and get special materials. Use whatever you've got at home, to make special decorations out of any craft materials you've got lying around. Not only will it be a good activity to pass the time, there will be extra special memories attached to them for years to come!

Surround Yourself with Light
At this darkest time of year, we celebrate light and love. Scents are known for being able to lift our spirits and Christmas is a particularly potent time of year with many smells particular to our festivities. Treat yourself to a special scented candle and let the aroma help you to relax.

Rituals
It's the time of year when we return to the same rituals every year. With things different this time around, it's more important than ever to cherish the rituals that we're able to do easily and perhaps to introduce some new ones too.

Seasonal Reads

Nothing says Christmas like settling down with a good book by a cosy fire. It's the best time of year to dig out an old festive favourite or curl up with a new read that you've been looking forward to. The perfect way to give yourself something to look forward to over the holidays.

Festive TV Shows & Films

We've all got our own festive favourites, whether it's a cosy Christmas film, a classic musical, something filled with action or an episode of an old TV show. Now more than ever we need that comfort and familiarity, so dig out those old favourites and curl up with that ultimate comfort watch.

Get into Nature

Make the most of more down time and get outside. Being out in nature is good for our wellbeing and mental health, as well as being an uplifting activity to do with the whole family. You could even hunt out some materials for your own decorations while you're out and about.

Homemade Treats

Homemade gifts have that personal extra touch to them. With a bit more time at home this year, why not take the time to make some tasty treats for the family and for friends. And many of them can be posted - the perfect way to send something extra special to friends and family you can't see this year.
